The Cisco C-SM-40P8M2X is a Layer 2 Catalyst Edge EtherSwitch service module for the Cisco Catalyst 8300 Series Edge Platforms. It delivers 50 ports in total: 40 x 1000BASE-T, 8 x 2.5GBASE-T (mGig) and 2 x SFP/SFP+ (1G/10G) uplinks, with PoE, PoE+, Cisco EPoE and Cisco UPOE support of up to 60 W per copper port. Built on Cisco's UADP ASIC, it brings Catalyst 9200-class Layer 2 switching directly into the router chassis.
