The Cisco 12416E-CSC is an Enhanced Clock Scheduler Card for the Cisco 12000 Series (12416) Internet router. Within the router's crossbar switch fabric, the CSC generates the system clock that synchronizes data transfers between line cards and the route processor, and distributes scheduling information to the switch fabric cards (SFCs). A full-bandwidth configuration uses two CSCs and three SFCs, where one CSC plus the three SFCs form the active fabric and the second CSC provides redundancy.
