The SFC is a core component of the router's crossbar switch fabric, receiving scheduling information and the system clock from the Clock Scheduler Cards (CSCs) and switching data between line cards and the route processor. A full-bandwidth 12416 fabric uses three SFCs together with the CSCs, delivering the switching capacity required to run high-performance line cards.
